Last Sunday November 3, Caribbean Airlines launched its twice weekly service from Ogle Airport in Guyana to Pengel Airport, Paramaribo, Suriname. The back and forth flight operates Fridays and Sundays from Guyana. CAL also has two direct non stop weekly flights from Trinidad and Suriname. It originates from POS and land at OGL continuing on to PBM. It leaves PBM, landing in OGL and continuing on to Trinidad.
The inaugural flight from Guyana was warmly welcomed in PBM with water sprays.
CAL flies directly from Trinidad to Suriname on Tuesdays and Fridays using a Boeing 737-8M (B38M). It uses an ATR 72-600 to ply the POS-OGL-PBM route. Connections are made from USA and Canada.
In a statement, the airline states that “it was also delighted to make Caribbean connections even stronger” and noted, “We launched Ogle Guyana to Suriname route, bringing you closer to more places you love.”

Col (Ret’d) Egbert Fields – Director General – GCAA and Saheed Sulaman – Deputy Director – GCAA.
Guyanese and Surinamese welcome this new flight. People can now travel between Guyana and Suriname without the hassle of changing flights and taking several hours to travel on this route in transit in Piarco. They can also fly from Suriname and make connection to North America. The service was hailed by Ministers and Directors of Tourism in both Guyana and Suriname.
