Former India cricketer Salim Durani passed away last April 2 at the age of 88. He was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. He settled in India where he became a renowned cricketer. He was well known for his slow left-arm orthodox and hitting skill as a batter. He toured the West Indies with Ajit Wadekar as captain and did extremely well. In 29 Tests, he scalped 75 wickets including three five-wicket hauls. The star cricketer also graced Bollywood as he starred opposite renowned actress Praveen Babi in the movie Charitra in 1973.
