According to Dr Vishnu Bandhu (past President of United Arya Samaj USA) and currently leader of the United Republican Party (URP), Prime Minister Narendra Modiji is to lay a floral tribute at the Arya Samaj monument at the Promenade Gardens, Georgetown, on the 20th November.
The monument was put up by Dr Bandhu when he led Central Arya Samaj Guyana , and it was supported by donations by United Federation of Arya Samaj mandirs in New York.
Maharishi Dayananda Saraswati was founder of the Arya Samaj in India was the leading proponent for the expulsion of the British from India. The Arya Samaj faith was transplanted to Guyana by indentured laborers.
