Human Fight Poem by
Brian Ramphal
We fight amongst nations,
We fight in corporations.
We fight our own family,
We fight our neighbors casually.
We fight for land, for faith,
we even fight about race.
From boardrooms to bedrooms,
Our battle cries bloom.
It’s written deep inside our DNA code,
the ancient rhythm of survival
We call it fight or flight,
but we—humans—mostly fight.
We fight by day, we fight by night,
in the streets, in the sky,
at home, at work and at play —
fight, fight, fight!
And yet beneath each bruised belief,
a whisper begs for some relief:
that one day, maybe,
we Humans finally learn
to fight for peace.
