Hans has made and indelible contribution to Trinidad & Tobago for over 60plus years.
I knew him growing up as a member of parliament , radio Broadcaster , businessman , Travel Agent , former President of National Council of Indian Culture now NCIC .
Hans was a true Cultural Icon and Radio broadcaster working in the Radio Station NBS Radio 610, and in the last years own his station.
Hans worked with the chain stores Kirpalani’s headed by business icon Ram Kirpalani he was Manager Communications and others positions.
Hans later became owner of The Famous Amrals Travel Service which he and a team bought from Travel Agency Icon Amral & Zakiya Khan.
Having worked with BWIA in the 1970s I had the pleasure working as a Sales Representative of the company and Handled his Agency as one of his Representatives.
He handled many Hajj groups for the Muslim community Annual Hajj and Umrah trips.
He was very instrumental in his India Tours the most Significant one was “ Journey to Roots “ a tour that took over 100 plus Trinidadians to Visit India 🇮🇳 and see the their Roots from the Various Cities which their forefathers came from during the Indentured period.
I had the pleasure visiting India 🇮🇳 in 1983 as a guest of the Tourist Board and Air India , my colleague Chan Ramona’s , Air India 🇮🇳 Rep in Trinidad.
We went on tour and met with various Tour operators to arrange his trip , Trip was a most historic one for Trinidadians to visit India.
He made a great impression and impact in the Travel industry doing many tours to India 🇮🇳, Europe, South America and many other countries his Travel Agencies was located in 10th Avenue in Barataria.
One who was Associated with him was Dr. Surujrattan Ramberchan and Ajeet Rawal two of his colleagues among his many friends.
Only this week Thursday I spoke about Hans and his contribution with a number of friends during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi .
Hans made a name for himself in Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹 over the years .
He was the President of the NCIC which hosted Divali Nagar before at Mid Center Mall and every year he would Honor prominent Citizens one year they Honored my late father Kamaluddin Mohammed and I had the pleasure to receive the award on my dad’s behalf.
In 1980s the NCIC got the lands in the present spot to Host Divali Nagar and many other Cultural , Business and Occasions which still takes place now.’
Hans received in 1990 the Humming bird gold for Independence and the Honorary Doctorate from the University of the West Indies.
He continued his Radio station until his death.
His brother Giddeon has been working alongside with him over the years.
He has left not only a Vacuum but a great Legacy in Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹 and will always be remembered for his great and tremendous contributions to our Nation of am certain he would have been on the forefront of PM Narendra Modi Visit but the Almighty knew best.
I do hope that he will be remembered and recognized by some memory in his name.

He batted a great innings for our country and have left a great impact, legacy and footprints for nation.
May his soul rest in peace.
