Alimuddin “Aleem” Mohammed is widely regarded as one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most respected business leaders, known for his enduring contributions to the insurance industry, corporate governance, and community development. In 1985, Mohammed founded ALM Insurance Services Limited, a company that would grow into a cornerstone of Trinidad and Tobago’s general insurance sector. As Chairman and Managing Director, he guided the business through years of steady growth, establishing a culture of excellence, professionalism, and customer trust. Under his leadership, and now under the stewardship of his son, Adam Mohammed, ALM Insurance has earned multiple national accolades, including the Small Agency of the Year Award in 2017, 2020, 2022, and 2024, as well as the Medium Agency of the Year Award in 2025.
The company’s success reflects Mohammed’s commitment to professional excellence and his belief in empowering the next generation of business leaders. Also , Mohammed serve as a director on the North Central Regional Health Authority from 2013 to 2015 , during which time he would have contributed significantly to tye public health sector.
Mohammed’s influence extends deeply into the business community through his longstanding involvement with the San Juan Business Association (SJBA). As a Past President and former Director of Education & Research, as well as Director of Trade & International Affairs, he has been instrumental in advancing the interests of small and medium-sized enterprises in the eastern corridor. His leadership within the SJBA has helped foster collaboration between the private sector and government agencies, promoting entrepreneurship and economic development in the region.
A firm believer in civic responsibility, Mohammed has dedicated much of his life to public service. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Tourism Development Company Ltd.
