Port-of-Spain: A new strategy is being developed to boost trade and and business matters between India and Trinidad and Tobago.
Indian High Commissioner, Dr Pradeep Singh Rajpurohit told a recent business seminar by the Couva/Point Lisas Chamber of Commerce that his office is pushing to act as a business intermediary between both countries.
Members of the Chamber shared information for possible business contacts, business assovciations, export and promotion councils for such products as cashews, milk products, seeds and oils, leather products and among products that are produced in India.
Dr Rajpurohit noted that vehicles, parts and accessories accounted for India’s exports to Trinidad and Tobago totalling US $16.42 million between April 2023 to January 2024, while mineral fuels, mineral oils among several other products from the petroleum sector accounted for the largest exports to India from th is country.
The diplomat was adamant those figures could increase by establishing industry-specific trade relations and robust collaborations between both countries.
