When the PPP filed an injunction against Gecom on March 5 in front of Justice Navindra Singh, Justice Roxanne George took over the matter on March 6. She went on to deliver a loose judgment on March 11 instructing Clairmont Mingo (the region 4 Returning Officer rigger) and Gecom to carry out a real count of the SOPs. Mingo, Keith Lowenfield, Claudette Singh, all riggers of the PNC (APNU), were held in contempt for not carrying out the judge’s order. But Justice Roxanne George has not continued contempt proceedings against them.
On March 19, the PNC (APNU) agents filed an injunction in front of Justice Franklyn Holder to stop the verification of the recount of ballots. Justice Holder is known for his sympathy to the PNC. His son-in-law Astel Collins was a candidate on the PNC list and stands to become a MP.
Justice Holder does not see his continued presiding over the case as a conflict of interest. Jutsice Roxanne has not upbraided him or intervened to remove Justice Holder from the case. But she removed independent Justice Navindra Singh from hearing a case that PPP filed. Is she motivated by race?
