No Keith Rowley, you and your PNM-led Administration did not “faced up to problems and fixed them, others create problems and lie about them!” Good riddance I posit… may TT never ever produce a politician/leader like Keith Christoper Rowley.
Former Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley took to Facebook yesterday (May 31) to remind us that, “Whether I am in retirement or not, the whole country, and I dare say the world, know that I was the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago between 2015 (September 9th) and 2025 (March 16), as such I led the Cabinet and have responsibility for the decisions made by the PNM Administration during that period.”
Who needs to or wants to be reminded of the 9+ years of the most disastrous years of political rule for TT at so many levels?
In my view, Rowley has become the most unpopular and will go down in history as the most disastrous Prime Minister this country has ever had!
From becoming leader of the Opposition in 2010 and the Prime Minister in 2015 up to his resignation in March 2025, Rowley proved himself to be a vindictive, narcissistic tyrant and just as the country was beginning to be breathing a breath of fresh air that we now have a new Prime Minister after the PNM was voted out of office, Rowley attempts to insert himself once more into the national conversation which I will not dignify by commenting on.
I am wondering if he is attempting some type of political rehabilitation, trying to restore some sort of public acceptability and respectability. Assuming that this is the case, then Rowley is indeed living in a dark fantasy.
It has been 9+ years of crisis after crisis with his inept and arrogant led PNM Admin. Every day got worse because of his Government’s political litany of mismanagement, corruption, incompetence, cronyism and nepotism which literally destroyed the country.
Keith Rowley is a shameless man who has disgraced the office he holds with lies and fabricated stories. This is the man who created fake emails to try to bring down a democratically elected government; the man whose AG threw out corruption cases against PNM operatives who put the country in serious economic problems; the man who lied about Fuelgate and refused to tell the truth about the Venezuelan connection and his courtship of international pariah and indicted narco-terrorist Nicholas Maduro.
Keith Rowley led a government that abandoned transparency and decency.
The last 9+ years under Rowley-led PNM Administration has been a time when the country witnessed an explosion of crisis after crisis as the Administration failed in every area of governance; the country experienced the greatest upsurge in crime; citizens were crying out for leadership of good governance in the most important areas of economic management (regarding reduced revenues), social issues, health care services and delivery, education and infrastructure development.
Indeed, the theme of the Rowley’s tenure as Prime Minister could be summed up as failure after failure, full blown crisis after crisis, scandal after scandal, missteps and mistakes covering multiple areas in governance, in credibility, in health, in national security and in dealing with the economy which left the country on the brink of total collapse.
And to add insult to injury, on his departure as Prime Minister, he literally installed his clone Stuart Young as Prime Minister who is now enjoying a full Prime Minister’s monthly pension of $87,000.00 but never stepped into the Parliament for one day as Prime Minister!
The new Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and her UNC-led Administration now have the very daunting task of resetting the economy as was done between 2010-2105. She is, once again, tasked with bringing back the much-needed investments in our energy sector, of solving the severe foreign exchange shortage, of reigning in the spiralling out of control crime and murder situation, getting people back to work, for allowing the private sector to drive growth and development, for deepening the economic reforms but with a human face and for sustainability by promoting environment stewardship.
No Keith Rowley, you and your PNM-led Administration did not “faced up to problems and fixed them, others create problems and lie about them!”
Now that you are no longer Prime Minister and you ensured that you have a monthly pension of over $87,000.00 before your resignation, my hope is that we will never hear from you again!
Good riddance I posit… may Trinidad and Tobago never ever produce a politician/leader like Keith Christoper Rowley.
