Community Advocate Dr Dhanpaul Narine and his team organized another successful Queens Book Fair on Saturday July 1. This is a monthly feature conceived by Dr. Narine. He commented:
“Who would have thought that people would give up their Sat to attend a library reading of poetry? This is exactly what happened earlier today at the Queens Book Fair. A capacity and diverse crowd turned up and heard poems from established and local poets. It was a great program that will be repeated”.
It is a remarkable program and activity considering that it is a July 4 weekend when New Yorkers are known to travel to enjoy the festivities.
