When the Queen left Trinidad and granted a bloodless Independence to the once prosperous ‘Sugarland’, she insured that the races are kept divided and that Mahatma Gandhi be promoted as the iconic ideal for the Diaspora. She devised a scholarship program that saw our brightest minds go to England to further education in British universities. She insured that our Courts and Laws are kept tethered to British oversight.
Our political advocates are bastard offspring of that British indoctrination. And our Caribbean leaders are unsanctimonious in their British posturing, despite the facade of Independence.
The newer upstarts are more American induced by consumerism, pageantry and sanctimonious in their demeanour. In both types of political advocacy, the Diaspora remains unserved, under represented and blatantly used as nuisance fodder voting.
In the media, political pornography, titillates the miserable taxpayers to emotional, racial and self-abusing suffrage. He votes who looks like him. Despite his five-year sufferation under his costumed lookalike, he will indubitably vote according to race.
The Queen has so foisted Gandhi that South African leader, Nelson Mandela devised his political aspirations from Gandhi. Even African American freedom fighter, Martin Luther King, was influenced by Mahatma Gandhi. And that too by the British version of Gandhi.
Meanwhile, in Trinidad, another ‘queen’ from the southland and her cronies, continue to keep the Hindu Diaspora out of political power. Although, there are members of the Indian race who are strategically posed in positions of political power. They are of course self-serving and servants of ‘Massa’. The political chess board is a complex and intertwining game. Members of apparently opposing sides are not moved out of play but merely opportunistically switching sides.
There were and are many Indians in political power – held and presently holding. None however served the Hindu Diaspora; they serve the Presbyterians – ‘knife and fork’ Indians; the ISIS recruit supply; the self-styled ‘Bramin’ stock – who claim to be Hindus but are not. And then there are the ever-thriving opportunistic Indian political prostitutes who sleep on both sides (and use both exit and entrance routes to achieve financial aid (and AIDS). These Indians are not out of political power – in fact they control the political power as conduits for the Massa, by keeping the Hindu Diaspora in perpetual check.
This is the legacy of the British Gandhi in the Diaspora.
