Dr Keith Rowley continues with his post political life by inserting himself unnecessarily, irrationally and indeed insulting the population of the country with his rhetoric. His “media briefing” yesterday was not a comedy; rather it was the continuation of a most offensive, low down, nasty, sacrilegious behaviour that has been Keith Rowley’s trademark. Imagine someone who was once the leader of the Government could not find better adjectives to address and describe the current Prime Minister, a lady as a jamette. And this elderly man is a husband, father of two young ladies and a grandfather!
It is time that the PNMs Leadership disowns him as “one of their own” or else he will keep dragging down its Political Leader and the party into the gutter by trying to dictate and manipulate the party’s narrative.
And the media has to stop pandering to him. He is suffering from a disease known as political relevance for which there is no immunization or vaccination.

I hope that the Political Leader of the PNM and Opposition Leader Mrs Penny Beckles will not only distance herself and the PNM from Rowley’s mean-spirited, vainglorious and disgraceful name calling of the country’s first female Prime Minister, but to publicly apologise to Mrs. Persad-Bissessar; this is a line that Rowley has crossed one too many occasions and it is Beckles’s time to say to him enough is enough and the country has had too damn much from you. It is now time that the PNM and the media put a stop to allowing Keith Rowley to shower himself with self gratification and glory.
How he governed the country as Prime Minister without any type of true-life experience, business acumen or propensity for being a good communicator is how he is conducting himself in retirement.
The country must never ever forget that Keith Rowley was the architect of Emailgate… when he as the then Opposition Leader tendered false documents on the floor of the House of Representatives allegedly implicating then Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and senior Cabinet members in a criminal conspiracy involving the surveillance of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), intimidation of a journalist, and offering a judgeship as a bribe.
I am hoping that his friends will encourage him today, after that “performance” yesterday, to reflect on the impact that his messaging is having on them, his family, his party and the country.
From someone who undoubtedly had significant public support in 2015 and 2020, he is now widely perceived as a former disgraced leader who is trying to reintegrate in the public eye and maintain some type of ‘elderly statesman’ status.
This is never going to happen!
