Mr. Yesu Persaud passed away recently and the maniacs, not surprisingly heaped praise on his legacy…..but what is the moral responsibility of a successful businessman who paid his taxes that enabled a racist dictatorship to retain its terror and forced his own people into starvation…and while many turned to alcohol to escape, profited from their misery. One can tell a lot about a society who’s biggest industry is alcohol….and one can tell a lot about powerful people who sit by idly and watch it happen and actually profit from it.
I wonder about all the women who were killed or tortured by their drunkard husbands…the hundreds who died in accidents because of drunken drivers and the suicides, the highest in the world. And while Opium mfg and cigarette makers had to pay billions in the U.S, mfg’s in poor nations are actually the biggest businesses..creating millionaires and billionaires via addiction.
Indian businessmen played a major role in helping the PNC subjugate Indians, they turned a blind eye to the suffering of their Indian brethren, hoping to win favors from a bunch of thugs masquerading as a legitimate Government. They live in “monkey cages” (windows and doors barred up to protect them) from bandits while poor Indians can’t. Guards at the gates…yet during the racial motivated crime spree after the 97 elections, those “monkey cages” couldn’t protect them. Over a dozen were killed or kidnapped, the monster they helped fund turned against them. It was Indian businessmen who helped Idi Amin in Uganda, and Mugabe in Zimbabwe….one of them actually went to jail with Kenyatta, and when those racists leaders turned on them….they must have felt what ordinary Indians felt. As Burnham turned against Indians during the 80’s they would have become his next set of victims, like Idi Amin’s Uganda mid 1970’s, but they were too stupid to know that.
In all ethnic groups successful entrepreneurs played important roles in effecting changes, except Indians. Ambani, India’s richest, built a skyscraper in a slum….maybe the sunset view is too beautiful. While American/European uber wealthy give away their wealth and fund social causes, Indian counterparts do the opposite..get rich…divorce the wife…..pick up a young chick….drive an expensive car…and boast how great you are. GIHA, an Indian organization formed in the 2000’s to document atrocities against Indians had to close down because of lack of funding, Indian businessmen have no interest in funding that noble cause, if they give a little, it must be anonymous, they’re too ashamed to come out publicly. But they have no shame in putting a photo of them smiling with a racist dictator on their walls, that is something to be admired. Enough said.
